It’s been a while since I told you about my joining the A Million Little Pictures Project a.k.a. AMLP. So it’s about time I share with you the photos I took, came out and submitted to arthousecoop. ^^
I told you that the disposable camera had 27 shots or exposures in it but only 20 came out from the printer. I was really careful in choosing and setting up each shot because unlike digital cameras you only get one shot at one exposure. The capture won’t be saved in a digital format right off the bat after you click the shutter button. That kind of made me nervous at each shot. Plus there’s no lcd screen where you can sort of compose the shot before you click, instead you just get the teeny viewfinder and then hope that what you see through it will translate well on the film and the print out after. It took me while to consume all 27 shots, and for the most part, planned mini photo excursions with my sister to make the shots a little bit more special. But of course, there will always be those experimental spontaneous shots. :)
So here they are, the 20 prints from my first disposable camera. Scanned, of course! :)
Also took a few pictures of the painted bangus sculptures. This bangus was one of my favorites. These are part of a sculpture painting contest during the 2011 Bangus Festival of Dagupan City. You can see more photos of the painted bangus sculptures on my previous blog post, Bangus Sculpture Paintings.
More photos of artworks on display during the 2011 Bangus Festival. This is part of the first art wall painted by the member of the Dagupan Artists’ Circle. See all the paintings that make up the entire wall this my previous post, Bangus Festival Art Wall.
Another large panel of the long art wall. This one is so fun and festive. Reminds me of the mosaic art we use to do during art subjects at school. :)
Here’s another view of the Boating Lagoon. Since it was summer, there were loads of local tourists enjoying the man-made lake under the nice weather.
There were loads and loads of these white daisies, along the with yellow ones previously, lining the pathways of Burnham Park. The flowers were less in variety and number compared to when we used to visit when I was in grade school though~</3
Kids’ Biker Lane at Baguio City. The disposable camera, having a fixed ISO of 400, does really well in bright natural light setting. ♥
Trips to Baguio City wouldn’t be complete without dropping SM Baguio. We took the back route which is called Fiesta Walkway (I think). It’s a garden walk-stairway with sets of male and female statues representing different native Filipino tribes. Do try this walk/stair-way when you head off to SM Baguio next time and absorb a bit of culture~ :)
That day, there was a stuff toy exhibit at the SM Baguio atrium. Since it was April then and around the Holy Week, the theme was Noah’s Arc. Yep! A large diorama of Noah’s Arc made up of pairs and pairs of nice realistic-looking stuff toys! See more and clearer photos of the exhibit in my previous post, Noah’s Arc.
I also took pictures of my old artworks. One shot for the painted set and then another for the sketched pieces. These didn’t come out well though because it was taken indoors (in my room) and there wasn’t enough light as I thought given my disposable camera had a fixed 400ISO. ^^;
And lastly, another random shot of different footwear neatly laid out. Used flash in this one. Not liking the flash much, but without it, the shot would’ve been as dark/blurry like the 2 pictures before this one. ^^;
A Million Little Pictures or AMLP turned out to be my 2011 summer project because looking back now, it captured many wonderful memories during happy sun-shiny days of this year~♥
You too can try out using a disposable camera. You don’t have to sign up for AMLP or similar projects to try using one. Disposable cameras are readily available at your local photo printing shops. A unit costs about Php200 – Php350 the last time I checked. Cost of having the film inside the camera developed was Php45 and about Php6 for each photo print you want to print from the film roll. ^^
